TL;DR
Senior Execution Lead - Machining (Manufacturing Engineering): Leading the development, execution, installation, launch, and plant handover of machining processes and equipment for future propulsion products with an accent on crankshaft machining, safety, quality, capability, and launch timing. Focus on developing robust machining systems, leading PFMEA and Control Plan activities, managing OEMs and suppliers, and resolving risks and issues through launch readiness.

Location: Spring Hill Complex, Tennessee, United States; full-time onsite presence required. Regular presence at the engine plant is required during installation, tryout, and launch. Domestic and international travel, off-shift work, weekends, and holidays may be required.

What you will do

  • Lead machining scope from concept through equipment installation, run-off, launch, and plant handover.
  • Own crankshaft machining while supporting block and head machining sustainment and capacity improvements.
  • Develop process flows, routings, sequence-of-operations documentation, and machine-tool requirements.
  • Define error-proofing, process-control, backup, and nonconforming-product strategies.
  • Lead PFMEA, Control Plan, capability study, type study, and dimensional performance activities.
  • Manage OEMs, integration suppliers, launch timing, spending, risks, issues, and launch readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least seven years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience independently executing projects across block, head, and crankshaft machining, including crankshaft machining line or cell launches.
  • Strong knowledge of crankshaft processes, equipment, OEMs, tooling, and gaging.
  • Experience overseeing service engineers, junior engineers, and OEM partners.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, project execution, lean manufacturing, and GM Manufacturing System skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with OEMs and integration suppliers.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, GPDP, and GM Global Manufacturing Engineering standards.
  • Willingness to support off-shift, weekend, and holiday activities during installation and launch.
