TL;DR
Staff Product Analyst (Workday Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking): Leading the optimization and global deployment of Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking capabilities with an accent on functional configuration, compliance, automation, and employee experience. Focus on designing business processes and eligibility rules, analyzing operational data, leading testing and releases, and integrating third-party payroll vendors.

Location: Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; San Francisco, California; or Washington, DC. Employees must be physically on U.S. soil and qualify as a U.S. person. Working on a U.S. visa does not qualify as U.S. person status.

Annual base salary: $148,000–$203,500 USD for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; $132,000–$181,500 USD for the applicable additional salary range. Equity, bonus, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

  • Define the Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking product vision and multi-year roadmap.
  • Translate business needs from People, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Operations stakeholders into functional requirements and configuration designs.
  • Design and configure business processes, calculations, eligibility rules, pay components, and related Workday functionality.
  • Manage the configuration lifecycle from discovery and requirements gathering through testing, deployment, maintenance, and adoption.
  • Build Workday reports, dashboards, and hubs to identify trends and improve process performance.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships, lead continuous improvement and testing, and develop documentation and training for new features.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience configuring Workday Payroll, Absence, and/or Time Tracking, including business process design, calculated fields, and eligibility rules.
  • Deep knowledge of Workday Payroll, including general ledger, pay components, taxes, Absence, Time Tracking, and global HR processes.
  • Experience leading tenant configuration, UAT, and regression testing.
  • Advanced ability to build custom reports, dashboards, and hubs.
  • Strong stakeholder communication, complex functional troubleshooting, scalable solution design, and experience working across global time zones.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and iterative delivery.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Workday integrations such as PECI, PICOF, Studio, or Workday Extend.
  • Workday certification in Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking.
