Solutions Architect (Data and AI)

Location: Remote in Nevada, California, Colorado, Oregon, or Washington; candidates in other locations may also be considered. Travel to customers in the region is required.

Salary: $180,000–$247,500 USD annually, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with sales teams to provide technical leadership and connect platform capabilities to customer business problems.
• Design Big Data architectures and implement proofs of concept for strategic projects.
• Support data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.
• Validate integrations with public cloud services, internal tools, and third-party applications.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects, product teams, customers, and broader customer-facing teams.
• Promote Databricks open-source projects, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow, within the developer community.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, pre-sales, consulting, or a similar field.
• Experience building distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python and SQL.
• Experience building solutions with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in data engineering technologies or data science and machine learning technologies.
• Availability to travel to customers in the assigned region is required.

Nice to have

• Degree in computer science, applied mathematics, operations research, or another quantitative discipline.
• Databricks Certification.
