Location: Clovis, New Mexico, United States. The position offers relocation and supports care for Special Operations Forces personnel at Cannon Air Force Base.

What you will do

  • Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, with or without referrals.
  • Provide injury care for Special Operations Forces personnel, including ordering approved imaging studies, laboratory tests, basic pharmaceuticals, and specialty referrals.
  • Document care in military electronic health records and enterprise-wide healthcare databases.
  • Advise program leadership on injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, equipment, supplies, and fiscal requests.
  • Supervise physical therapy technicians, assistants, or certified athletic trainers when directed.
  • Participate in peer reviews, clinical guideline development, staff meetings, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.
  • Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one required.
  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
  • ABPTS OCS or SCS certification, or NATA Certified Athletic Trainer certification.
  • At least five years of demonstrable experience performing manual therapy in sports medicine with individual and group athletes.
  • Fluent written and spoken English required. Must be able to train with Special Operations Forces, hike over rough terrain, work in austere environments, and lift or manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.

Nice to have

  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Prior military or Special Operations Forces experience.
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential.
  • Experience with NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, or Special Operations Forces athletes.
