Managing Director, Institutional Municipal Trading

Compensation: $200,000–$250,000 annual salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead trading strategy execution across municipal and other fixed income asset classes.
• Drive market coverage, liquidity provision, revenue generation, and desk profitability.
• Provide pricing insight, market color, execution updates, and actionable market ideas to clients and internal partners.
• Monitor positions, market developments, liquidity conditions, inventory, and profitability to guide risk decisions.
• Coordinate with sales, syndicate, product, and internal coverage teams.
• Mentor junior traders and desk staff while contributing to compliance standards, procedures, and management reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience leading and executing traded products in capital markets.
• Experience trading long-dated tax-exempt and taxable municipal securities.
• FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
• Strong trading judgment, municipal market expertise, client-facing communication, and risk awareness.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bloomberg TOMS, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, ICE Bonds, and financial modeling.

• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Knowledge of municipal market structure, credit, fundamentals, industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and capital markets products.
• Experience building trusted client relationships and generating revenue in municipal trading.
