Senior Engineering Lead (AWS)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. The role requires existing US work authorization and does not offer employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship. Relocation assistance may be available.

What you will do

• Lead architecture and design discussions covering APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, and observability.
• Design scalable, maintainable, secure, and cloud-native applications for the financial services portfolio using AWS.
• Optimize cloud-based data lakes and processing frameworks for real-time and near-real-time ingestion, monitoring, and reporting.
• Evaluate software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts and architecture reviews.
• Embed security and DevSecOps practices, maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, and reusable best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and align technical decisions with product owners, technical teams, and business priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including 3+ years in system or application design.
• Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS, including event-driven and streaming architectures and EKS/ECS containers.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills, with availability for off-hours incident response when needed.

Nice to have

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification.
• Experience presenting design proposals, conducting architecture reviews, and delivering hands-on end-to-end proof-of-concepts.
• Experience automating finance-domain business processes.
