Specialty Insurance Expert (AI)

Location: Remote, USA-based

What you will do

• Annotate specialty insurance policy towers, including limits, sublimits, retentions, attachment points, and excess layers.
• Analyze insuring agreements and exclusions to produce structured coverage conclusions for described scenarios.
• Review and correct AI-generated output and assess agent performance against expert practitioner standards.
• Adjudicate ambiguous and complex cases involving manuscript wordings, follow-form excess, nested exclusions, and schedules of underlying.
• Build evaluation rubrics, benchmarks, and review workflows for machine learning pipelines.
• Translate insurance terminology, market conventions, and coverage reasoning into product requirements for engineering teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA.
• At least 3 years of experience in excess and specialty insurance; 5+ years strongly preferred.
• Experience as an excess and specialty insurance underwriter, coverage attorney or counsel, or consultant.
• Hands-on experience in specialty insurance underwriting, claims, broking, or coverage counsel, including General Liability, Professional Liability, or related casualty and specialty lines.
• Ability to read policies end-to-end and explain coverage across primary and excess layers.
• Ability to clearly communicate coverage reasoning to non-insurance experts; no technical background is required.

Nice to have

• Claims experience as or alongside a claims adjuster, claims examiner, complex or litigated claims specialist, or claims counsel.
