Medical Scribe Intern (AI Healthcare)

Location: Palo Alto, United States; hybrid with onsite work required 3 days per week

Salary: $40.00 per hour; paid internship running for 6 months at 20–40 hours per week, with full-time preferred

What you will do

• Review, evaluate, and label outputs from generative AI healthcare products.
• Compare AI-generated clinical content against defined gold standards for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to criteria.
• Complete structured quality assurance and data-labeling tasks using detailed written instructions.
• Apply consistent judgment across high-volume work and document reasoning clearly.
• Escalate questions and blockers to the supervising physician.
• Handle protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and clinical safety and privacy standards.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of medical scribe experience or comparable medical education or professional experience, such as nursing, PA or pre-med studies, EMT, CNA, or medical assisting.
• Working fluency in medical terminology and clinical documentation, including how care is recorded in charts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to explain reasoning clearly in writing.
• Reliable availability of 20–40 hours per week across a 6-month commitment, with full-time availability preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Palo Alto 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner and clinical documentation workflows.
• Experience with chart abstraction, data labeling or annotation, quality improvement, or clinical research.
• Interest in AI/ML healthcare applications and clinical AI safety evaluation.
