TL;DR
RF Phased Array Engineer I/II (Aerospace/RF): Developing and testing RF products and phased-array systems for spacecraft and other space missions with an accent on antenna modeling, array performance, and end-to-end product development. Focus on designing active-antenna test plans, integrating RF systems, supporting engineering reviews, and troubleshooting customer and program requirements.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. This position is for candidates seeking to work in US offices and is subject to US ITAR eligibility requirements.

Base salary: $82,400–$126,000 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $89,350–$143,625 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Support RF product and system development from architecture and prototyping through integration, testing, flight development, and production transition.
  • Model and simulate antenna and phased-array performance for current programs and proposals.
  • Develop test plans and procedures for active antennas, including EIRP and G/T testing.
  • Design and develop ground support equipment and production automation.
  • Collaborate with RF, digital, power, mechanical, thermal, and structural engineers, vendors, and customers.
  • Support proposals, requirements compliance, engineering reviews, technical documentation, anomaly troubleshooting, and customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, RF communications, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Fundamental RF knowledge, including link budget analysis and linearity.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of RF communications, navigation systems, and components.
  • Basic knowledge of antenna and array modeling.
  • Engineer II candidates need 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and meet applicable US ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • Space-grade system design and RF communications experience for launch vehicles or satellites.
  • Experience with worst-case, reliability, FMECA, thermal, and derating analyses.
  • Experience leading complex engineering programs, incident investigations, or mentoring engineers.
  • Project management, conflict resolution, and technical documentation experience.
