SME Software Asset Management Analyst (Technology SME)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in AL, AZ, DC, FL, GA, ID, MD, MS, NJ, NC, OK, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, or WV. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance are required.

Salary: $140,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Serve as the senior technical authority for software asset management, licensing strategy, technology optimization, and compliance initiatives.
• Process software requests, perform standards conformance checks, submit license evaluations, and coordinate fulfillment through closure.
• Coordinate with customers, vendor managers, contracting representatives, product owners, and software licensing specialists.
• Maintain entitlement documentation, software license repositories, intake artifacts, and authoritative records.
• Support enterprise software agreements, vendor offerings, audit responses, cost-savings analysis, and procurement strategies.
• Investigate potential non-compliance liabilities and validate reporting evidence for FITARA, OMB, CIO, and FISMA requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience in software asset support and/or IT service operations.
• Experience with SAM repositories, license keys, installation files, installation instructions, and product documentation.
• Demonstrated experience supporting vendor audits, enterprise agreement strategies, and complex compliance scenarios.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and reside in one of the specified U.S. states.
