Software Asset Management Specialist - Governance

Location: Barcelona, Poblenou, Spain; hybrid working model. Occasional travel to other Zurich locations may be required.

Zurich Technology Delivery Center is the Barcelona-based technology center of hirify.global, providing software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and technology support for local and global business units.

What you will do

• Define and continuously evolve the Software Asset Management governance framework, including policies, standards, processes, ownership, accountability, and controls.
• Establish governance mechanisms for managing software cost, risk, compliance, value, investments, renewals, contracts, and vendor relationships.
• Own the SAM data framework and improve data quality, consistency, transparency, reporting, dashboards, and management information.
• Define and monitor governance KPIs, translating complex software asset and financial data into actionable recommendations.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and the use of AI to increase reliability and reduce manual effort.
• Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, IT, Security, Architecture, Business Units, and software vendors, while leading SAM communication and completing daily SAM activities when required.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Software Asset Management experience in large, complex enterprise IT environments, including software portfolio and governance responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing terms, restrictions, optimization opportunities, and effective license position calculations for at least one Tier 1 or Tier 2 vendor such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Broadcom, Cloud Software Group, SAP, or Adobe.
• Experience with SAM tools, ideally Flexera One, advanced Microsoft Excel, SAM data quality, dashboards, reporting, cost optimization, risk reduction, and compliance improvement.
• Experience developing or implementing governance frameworks, policies, processes, controls, and measurable KPIs.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including software cost impact, P&L calculations, and accruals, together with stakeholder influence across multiple business functions.
• Fluent spoken and written English at strong B2 level or above.
