UX Researcher II

What you will do

• Develop and validate research plans and hypotheses with product owners and stakeholders.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research using interviews, surveys, card sorting, tree testing, and usability testing.
• Schedule and facilitate user interviews and usability testing with technical audiences.
• Analyze findings, communicate actionable insights, and collaborate with designers to translate research into product features and requirements.
• Define success metrics and evaluate product performance after release.
• Translate complex policy documents into technical requirements while working in an agile, cross-functional team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in service design, UX research, or human-centered design.
• Experience researching technical audiences and translating findings into product requirements.
• Case study portfolio demonstrating sound UX research and product design skills, or an accessible PDF portfolio with case studies.
• US citizenship or a Green Card is required; visa sponsorship is not offered.
• US residency for at least the past 3 years and eligibility to obtain Public Trust clearance, including a US Government background investigation.

Nice to have

• Previous civic tech experience.
• Experience with Confluence and Jira.
• Experience with CMS.
• Proficiency in Figma.
