Lead Java Fullstack Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and production-quality code.
• Build Java and Spring Boot backend services, clean RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Develop responsive, component-driven front-end applications with React.
• Deploy cloud-native services and support them throughout their operational lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and developers in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience building production-grade enterprise applications; the position also lists 6+ years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Java 11 or 17, Spring Boot, RESTful API design, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Production experience with microservices, relational databases, SQL, query tuning, and schema design.
• Professional experience with React, CI/CD, Git workflows, code reviews, and release management.
• Experience deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Nice to have

• Event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent streaming platforms.
• Docker and Kubernetes production experience.
• Distributed systems concepts including eventual consistency, CAP trade-offs, idempotency, and saga patterns.
• Automated testing and contributions to test-driven or behavior-driven development.
