Principal Fullstack Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Hybrid — 2–3 days per week in the Boston office at 99 High Street, United States

Salary: $175,000–$195,000 USD per year; bonus eligible

What you will do

• Design, engineer, deploy, and manage architecture for specified financial products.
• Lead the development team’s design roadmap, architecture discussions, and development activities.
• Develop and champion design, coding, enterprise compliance, and engineering best practices.
• Provide architecture subject matter expertise to business and development groups.
• Lead or coordinate significant projects with broad impact on enterprise performance, including day-to-day work of professional and technical staff where applicable.
• Evaluate new technologies and generate ideas for improving product architecture and engineering effectiveness.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software design.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent related degree preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of software architecture, management practices, and processes.
• Expert knowledge of N-tier web-based applications built on a Java-centric technology stack.
• Deep understanding of AWS, with a focus on serverless and microservices technologies.
• Advanced experience with SQL databases, including SQL Server or Oracle, plus advanced SQL tuning skills.
• Advanced analytical and diagnostic skills, business acumen, strategic thinking, and understanding of business functions, processes, and strategies.
• Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to influence and lead others across organizational levels, accept feedback, and deliver results through completion.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with OLAP databases such as Snowflake.
