Full-Stack Engineer (Vue)

Location: Remote, with periodic in-person attendance required for quarterly or project planning, training, and other business-critical meetings. Applicants must not now or in the future require employment sponsorship.

Salary: $140,000–$155,000 per year, plus annual bonus opportunity.

Mutual of Omaha is modernizing critical applications and developing cloud-enabled platforms, integrations, and data solutions for its Special Risk business.

What you will do

• Define and execute modernization roadmaps for legacy applications supporting Special Risk operations.
• Migrate applications and services to AWS and Kubernetes/TKG environments.
• Design, build, and enhance applications replacing legacy Java systems, Microsoft Access databases, and spreadsheet-driven processes.
• Develop integrations, APIs, backend services, and file-processing workflows for claims and reporting operations.
• Build cloud data and reporting solutions with architects, BI teams, and data engineers.
• Establish GitHub repositories, CI/CD workflows, engineering standards, vulnerability remediation, and application hardening practices while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack development skills.
• Experience leading or contributing to application modernization and legacy transformation initiatives.
• Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, TKG, or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with Java applications, enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, data-driven workflows, GitHub, and modern software delivery practices.
• Ability to evaluate technical debt and vulnerabilities, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Must not require employment sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, cloud data platforms, ETL, file-based integrations, or enterprise data workflows.
• Experience with Vue.js 2 or Vue.js 3.
• Experience with vendor-based enterprise applications or regulated industries such as insurance and financial services.
• Experience with Agile, SAFe, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and vulnerability remediation.
