Director of Strategy & Operations

Location: Seattle, WA, United States. Extensive travel across the West Coast is required, approximately 25% and higher during launch periods.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus an RSU package and variable pay where applicable.

What you will do

• Lead West Coast markets and manage Field Operations Managers, with responsibility expanding to General Managers and Operations Managers.
• Set and execute regional operating strategy across market launches, contract expansions, and new service types.
• Own regional P&L outcomes, operating plans, staffing models, KPIs, and margin improvement in partnership with Finance and market GMs.
• Drive service reliability, safety, staffing, vehicle readiness, customer experience, and root-cause improvement across underperforming markets.
• Build trust with transit agency stakeholders through performance reporting, proactive communication, and service remediation.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Service Design, Product, Safety, Fleet, HR, Finance, and Partner Success to align operations with growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in operational leadership, ideally combining consulting and operating experience.
• Proven experience with business strategy, P&L responsibility, and leading high-growth or transformation environments.
• Experience scaling teams, launching new lines of business, or integrating acquisitions or service expansions.
• Operational fluency in people-intensive, regulated, 24/7 businesses, including labor planning, safety, and compliance.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Bachelor’s degree with exceptional academic and professional achievement.
