What you will do

• Lead the mechanical development and redesign of complex ultra-high-vacuum and high-voltage systems and assemblies.
• Own subsystem architecture, requirements flow-down, interface definition, and technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Drive improvements in performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
• Lead tolerance analysis, error budgeting, GD&T strategy, design reviews, qualification, and performance verification.
• Execute structural, thermal, vibration, vacuum, and reliability analyses and develop mitigation plans for technical risks.
• Collaborate with systems, electron optics, electrical engineering, manufacturing, reliability, supply chain, and suppliers while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Doctorate with 3 years of related experience, Master's degree with 6 years, or Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience.
• Deep experience in precision mechanical design for semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, electron-beam systems, or precision instrumentation.
• Extensive knowledge of UHV design, vacuum hardware, contamination control, vacuum-compatible materials, and high-voltage mechanical integration.
• Expert knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, error budgeting, design for manufacturing, structural mechanics, and FEA-based analysis.
• Experience with supplier management, qualification, process transfer, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and multidisciplinary technical leadership.
• Expert proficiency with Creo/ProE or similar CAD tools, plus experience with vibration measurement, engineering data analysis, and technical communication.
