Senior Systems Engineer (Semiconductor Metrology)

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, USA; onsite support at headquarters and field escalations may be required. Travel up to 20%.

Base pay: $115,900–$197,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the technical development of a complex metrology system within a cross-disciplinary engineering team.
• Manage system error budgets, requirements, design documentation, and technical roadmaps.
• Decompose complex systems into subsystems, modules, and components for implementation.
• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot prototype systems, and resolve development issues and field escalations.
• Drive system-level validation, verification, testing, performance qualification, and multidisciplinary experiments.
• Collaborate with program management, service, manufacturing, engineering, and marketing teams on schedules, system performance, and customer-driven requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of multidisciplinary systems R&D experience.
• Strong experience in data analysis and signal/image processing using Python or MATLAB.
• Strong system-level thinking and ability to understand and analyze complex architectures and systems.
• Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and independently.
• Proven leadership capabilities and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including technical presentations.
• Curiosity, continuous-learning mindset, and interest in exploring new technologies.
