Public Benefit Supervisor (Healthcare)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia. This position is limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work within the United States. Ability to travel when needed.

Salary: $52,100–$65,125 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Supervise the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Eligibility Services department.
• Monitor staff productivity, account-level outcomes, work quality, and KPI performance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on department procedures, hospital policies, and federal, state, and county benefit programs.
• Coach and develop staff, identify performance gaps, and support time and attendance compliance.
• Maintain working relationships with county, state, and federal Medicaid caseworkers.
• Collaborate with Case Management, Patient Access, Financial Counseling, physician office staff, and other revenue cycle departments.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
• Superior customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
• Strong computer skills, multitasking ability, and experience managing work quality and productivity.
• Demonstrated advanced use of AI and experience managing teams in applying AI to process and technology improvements.
• High school diploma or GED; a combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire. A four-year bachelor's degree is preferred.
