Data Solutions Architect (Data Platforms)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Define and lead the architecture of an enterprise data platform across ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and consumption layers.
• Set standards for data modeling, data lifecycle management, and platform architecture.
• Establish the strategic direction of data infrastructure and deliver a scalable data foundation.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, ML, and business stakeholders.
• Lead large data-platform initiatives across multiple teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of data engineering experience, including significant architecture experience; the posting also lists 6+ years under experience required.
• Deep expertise in at least two major data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Strong knowledge of lakehouse architectures, modern table formats, streaming systems, and data modeling patterns.
• Production-scale experience with Spark, Flink, or Kafka, plus governance, lineage, and catalog implementation.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, networking, identity, cost optimization, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience with data mesh or data product architectures.
• Familiarity with dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, or LookML.
• Exposure to regulated industries with data residency or audit requirements.
• Cloud or platform certifications and public talks or writing on data architecture.
