Workers Compensation, Risk Analyst 3 (Hybrid)

Location: Fullerton, California, United States. Hybrid schedule with regular office attendance currently expected four days per week and one work-from-home day; in-office presence is an essential function of the role.

Annual pay range: $69,000–$110,500, with possible performance-based incentives or bonuses.

What you will do

• Investigate moderately complex workers’ compensation claims, including high-exposure and litigated cases.
• Determine claim validity, benefits due, treatment plans, payments, reserves, and return-to-work actions.
• Review medical bills and manage income replacement payments in accordance with fee schedules and applicable statutes.
• Manage recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund recoveries, and Social Security and Medicare offsets.
• Prepare required state filings and maintain compliance across 18 state jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and provide strategic direction for litigation and settlement negotiations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience.
• Strong understanding of workers’ compensation laws, regulations, principles, and claims application.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Good judgment, collaboration, organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain ongoing education credits across multiple states and use standard office equipment.
