Lead Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Remote within the United States; must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise web applications.
• Develop backend services with Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js, and responsive frontend interfaces with Angular, HTML5, and CSS.
• Architect, deploy, and maintain secure AWS environments using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices connecting frontend, backend, and database layers.
• Guide technical teams, conduct code reviews, establish development practices, and drive CI/CD initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and UI/UX designers in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 3–5 years, or Ph.D. with 0–2 years.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification at IAT Level II and an active Secret clearance.
• US citizenship is required.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience, with proficiency in Angular, HTML5, and CSS.
• Experience with Node.js, AWS cloud services, Agile development processes, and object-oriented programming.

Nice to have

• SQL experience with major databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• API design and documentation experience with JSON or OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with Git and experience in vulnerability analysis and remediation.
