Salary: $105,000–$155,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Support spacecraft structural system and subsystem design from concept development through design reviews, prototyping, production, launch integration, and verification testing.
- Create finite element models of satellite structures and perform static, dynamic, buckling, thermal, linear, nonlinear, and transient analyses.
- Plan and execute mechanical tests, including vibration, shock, acceleration, life, and endurance testing.
- Design and analyze test fixtures, coordinate with test houses and vendors, and support testing logistics.
- Perform spacecraft structural vibration testing, including data acquisition, digital signal processing, modal analysis, and real-time test-data interpretation.
- Conduct peer reviews, improve structural analysis processes, and support engineering review boards, schedules, and technical compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of direct industry experience performing structural analyses in space, aerospace, or a similar sector.
- Experience with Nastran, Patran, and SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
- Experience with vibration and shock testing of aerospace or space-grade equipment, test planning, and test execution.
- Understanding of launch vehicle loads and their impact on spacecraft systems, as well as applicable military or NASA standards.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required; export-control authorization may also be required.
Nice to have
- Master of Science degree focused on solid mechanics.
- Experience with random, sine, SRS, and static load testing, including data acquisition and processing.
- Experience in an aerospace or space production environment and with MSC Apex, Adams, or Marc.
- Knowledge of HALT or HASS methodologies and experience operating a Data Physics LE-2016 shaker table.
