TL;DR
Senior Dynamics Engineer (Aerospace): Deriving loads and environments for high-power satellites across transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation with an accent on spacecraft dynamics, testing, finite element analysis, and simulation tooling. Focus on coupled loads analysis, jitter and pointing performance, vibroacoustic analysis, modal testing, and correlating physics models with measured data.

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role involves access to ITAR-controlled information and requires U.S. person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.

Base salary: $140,000–$175,000 per year, plus equity.

Company

hirify.global develops and mass-produces high-power satellite platforms for commercial and U.S. government missions from low Earth orbit to deep space.

What you will do

  • Define and execute dynamic testing for components, subsystems, vehicles, and stacks, including planning, coordination, analysis, and model correlation.
  • Develop time- and frequency-domain physics models using finite element analysis and Python-based simulation tools.
  • Derive loads, vibration, shock, jitter, acoustic environments, response limits, and dynamics-driven design and test criteria.
  • Own coupled loads analysis, including superelement and Craig-Bampton model development for ascent and on-orbit environments.
  • Lead jitter, pointing, GNC-coupled, vibroacoustic, modal, and acoustic analysis and testing.
  • Provide data-driven engineering guidance, perform code reviews, and document tests, simulations, and engineering insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • 5+ years of professional or academic experience in dynamics.
  • Experience developing and analyzing spacecraft dynamics models, tests, or simulation workflows.
  • Must meet ITAR export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. person or be eligible for a federally issued export control license.
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently and communicate analysis and test insights clearly.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering, physics, or mathematics discipline.
  • Experience with Nastran or FEMAP, Python software development, digital signal processing, statistics, and structural mechanics.
  • Experience with coupled loads analysis, Craig-Bampton model reduction, jitter and pointing analysis, Monte Carlo methods, or GNC-coupled dynamics.
  • Experience with multibody dynamics, vibroacoustic analysis, HALT/HASS testing, or dynamics-driven PCBA failure mechanisms.
  • Experience maintaining shared analysis tooling with version control and continuous integration.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-paced environment within a high-growth, Series D-funded aerospace company.
  • Paid time off and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Life insurance and paid parental leave.
  • Equity in the company and additional employee benefits.
  • Non-traditional career paths and varied professional backgrounds are encouraged.
