TL;DR
Training Specialist (Nuclear): Developing and delivering qualification training programs for nuclear energy personnel with an accent on instructional design, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Focus on applying the Systematic Approach to Training, updating course materials, and building training plans and qualification records in the LMS.
Location: On-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho; frequent travel to Austin, Texas and INL. Candidates must be based in the United States and be able to work on-site.

What you will do
- Instruct classroom courses on a range of topics.
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs for personnel qualification.
- Incorporate Conduct of Operations and Maintenance, ISMS, and Human Performance principles into training.
- Apply ISMS-CCR, the Systematic Approach to Training, and a graded approach to job execution.
- Identify training needs with department management and subject-matter experts, and take corrective actions.
- Update course materials and manage training plans, job codes, and qualified watchlists in the LMS.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience.
- Qualification by the training manager or equivalent for the material presented.
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. person status is required for compliance with 10 CFR Part 810.
- Ability to work on-site in Idaho Falls, Austin, and INL, with frequent travel to Austin.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of training or nuclear experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Basic Instructor Training, or equivalent adult-learning experience.
- Knowledge of nuclear operations, Conduct of Operations, classroom motivation, and adult-learning theory.
- Familiarity with the Systematic Approach to Training, NE O 426.2, and ASME NQA-1 2022 Requirement 2.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time-management, project-management, flexibility, and creative training-presentation skills.
