Principal Engineer - Global Tapeout and Mask Organization (Semiconductor)

Location: USA - Texas - Austin. Applicants must be US persons and eligible to obtain and maintain an export control license.

Salary: $85,000–$146,000 per year.

What you will do

• Enable scalable Electronic Design Automation (EDA) functions in cloud environments.
• Improve secure on-premises automation flows and develop cloud-based business process tools.
• Build tapeout interactive tools, data visualizations, and KPI analytics for process optimization.
• Explore AI/ML technologies, AWS services, and new approaches to tapeout tool and application development.
• Support customer tapeouts, mask manufacturing enablement, and fab wafer start enablement.
• Collaborate with product lines, manufacturing fabs, sales, EDA and cloud vendors, and IT teams using agile methodologies.

Requirements

• BS degree with 4–5 years of relevant experience, MS with 2–4 years, or PhD with 1–2 years in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Experience with tapeout operations, semiconductor device design and validation, and EDA flow development and automation.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience developing Python-based process automation and KPI metrics across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication, planning, organizational, project management, and execution skills.
• Must be a US person and eligible to obtain and maintain an export control license; the role may require US Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• MS degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Structured Problem Solving, 8D, or FMEA experience or certification.
• Experience integrating AI agents and tools into business processes.
• Cybersecurity and CMMC enablement knowledge.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, Bamboo, Git, or Jenkins.
