Junior Production Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Richen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany; work takes place on the production line.

What you will do

• Analyze production-line operations, identify bottlenecks and recurring disruptions, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Provide technical support during line disruptions and address recurring issues at their root cause.
• Plan and implement continuous improvement initiatives, measuring impact on cycle time, quality, and equipment availability.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing methods, including standard work, line balancing, and waste elimination.
• Create and maintain process standards and work instructions, and assess the production impact of engineering changes.
• Support shift leaders and operators in daily operations and introduce improvements in close collaboration with them.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• First experience as a Production or Manufacturing Engineer in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment with direct shopfloor impact.
• Practical experience with continuous improvement, CIP/KVP, Lean Manufacturing, and structured root cause analysis.
• Strong communication skills in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Technical apprenticeship or vocational training completed before university studies.
• Experience supporting the ramp-up of a new production facility or manufacturing line.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance, or Shopfloor Management.
• Experience in prefabrication, timber construction, or modular construction.
