Manager, Medical Economics & Analytics (Healthcare)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office. Candidates must be based in the United States and authorized to work without sponsorship.

Annual salary: $130,000–$145,000 for NYC-based applicants, plus potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Develop expertise in claims, utilization, provider network, operational, and financial data and convert complex datasets into actionable insights.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts delivering analyses, reporting, and analytical solutions.
• Build and optimize scalable analyses, data models, dashboards, and reporting using SQL, Excel, and analytics tools.
• Partner with Provider Network, Claims, Contact Center, and Member Experience teams to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, define KPIs, and inform decisions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT on data models, pipelines, tooling, governance, and self-service analytics.
• Automate analytical workflows and manual processes to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, economics, finance, statistics, data analytics, or a related analytical field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, including 1–3 years of people management experience.
• Advanced SQL experience querying and analyzing large datasets of 30M+ rows.
• Experience with AWS, dbt, Databricks, or similar modern data platforms and transformation tools.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar business intelligence and visualization platforms.
• Healthcare or insurance knowledge, including provider networks, healthcare operations, and medical or pharmacy claims data, plus strong communication and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern analytics IDEs such as Visual Studio Code, Cursor, or PyCharm.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis, development, or workflows.
