Staff Software Engineer, Data Collection (Tags & SDKs)

Salary: $190,900–$253,750 USD annually, with potential annual performance bonus, equity, and regional benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end first-party data collection stack, including browser tags, mobile SDKs, server-side endpoints, and ingestion.
• Define schema and versioning contracts and maintain compatibility across SDK versions already deployed.
• Design identity handling for anonymous and authenticated records across devices and sessions.
• Lead integrations with CustomerLake products such as Profile and Campaign Agents.
• Manage page-weight, latency, and failure budgets so collection does not degrade host applications.
• Partner with product management, design, and engineering teams on scalable and extensible solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including technical leadership on complex enterprise software projects.
• Experience owning an SDK or client library used by external developers, including native iOS and Android SDKs.
• Deep browser-side JavaScript experience with bundle size, asynchronous loading, CSP, storage and cookie restrictions, and tracking prevention.
• Experience with high-throughput server-side collection, including edge endpoints, batching, retries, and delivery guarantees.
• Practical understanding of consent and privacy requirements, regional routing, and data minimization.
• Strong technical and cross-functional leadership, ownership, and ability to drive projects from idea through launch and adoption.

Nice to have

• Technical and people leadership experience, such as a TLM role.
• Experience building a CDP, analytics SDK, or tag management product.
• Incident-response experience for code deployed on customer properties.
