Software Engineer, Ads - Core Infra - USDS (Ads Infrastructure)

Location: Los Angeles R&D; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $129,960–$341,734 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead projects that build, optimize, and operate automation procedures and efficiency tooling for large-scale Ads ranking, machine learning, data processing, and storage systems.
• Develop backend services and platform capabilities that improve engineering efficiency, DevOps maturity, and developer experience.
• Optimize infrastructure for availability, observability, maintainability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members and project peers.
• Coordinate engineering efforts with cross-functional teams and internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive innovation by introducing new ideas and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or complex scalable distributed systems.
• Experience with network architecture, database modeling, cloud systems, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, debugging, communication, ownership, and execution skills.
• Experience managing projects and communicating solutions clearly and concisely.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Ads domain.
• Experience building large-scale ranking and machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience processing petabyte-level data.
