Senior Software Engineer, Ads Infra - Big Data - USDS (Big Data)

Location: Los Angeles R&D; fully in-person schedule of up to 5 days a week

Salary: $177,688–$341,734 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build and operate big data computing frameworks and storage systems for large-scale advertising serving and machine learning.
• Develop highly efficient, scalable, and stable infrastructure for Ads ranking and data systems.
• Drive key technical projects and introduce new technologies and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with teams, organizations, and internal and external stakeholders to deliver engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data processing and storage frameworks.
• Experience with technologies such as Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, or RocksDB.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including coding, algorithms, data structures, software design, and problem-solving.
• Clear communication, critical thinking, ownership, and execution skills.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Los Angeles, up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in the advertising domain.
• Experience building large-scale ranking and machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience processing petabyte-scale data.
