Workplace/Desktop Deployment Engineer

Location: Onsite in Yeovil, United Kingdom; occasional travel within a two-hour radius may be required. Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with possible overtime and on-call duties. Applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security and residency requirements.

What you will do

• Prepare, configure, deploy, install, upgrade, and break-fix desktops, laptops, thin clients, VDI terminals, servers, peripherals, and software.
• Deploy and support Android and iOS smartphones.
• Investigate technical issues and support laptop, desktop, and VDI requests alongside the onsite 2nd Line support team.
• Provide VIP support and maintain concise, accurate call logs, documentation, and email communication.
• Assist with customer IT projects and provide cover at nearby sites when required.

Requirements

• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2016 or later.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and operating system/application deployment.
• Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a support team.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom and eligibility for applicable UK Government and contractual security requirements.

Nice to have

• Windows 10 or 11 training, certification, and experience.
• Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Trellix EPO, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, Windows Security, client encryption, and VPN experience.
• Experience with BitLocker, Cisco, F5, or Zscaler.
• Previous experience in a similar role and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Clean full driving licence.
