TL;DR
Data Engineer - Mid (Python/SQL): Designing and maintaining data ingestion pipelines, storage systems, and ETL processes for investment portfolio data with an accent on data governance, quality controls, and scalable architecture. Focus on onboarding vendor data sources, tracing data flows, troubleshooting pipeline issues, and developing rigorous test plans.

What you will do
- Design and implement solutions across cloud, DevOps, and data engineering.
- Own and manage investment data sourced from vendors including BlackRock, Clearwater, Bloomberg, ICE, BONY, and external managers.
- Partner with business units and IT to onboard data sources and improve ingestion processes.
- Design data storage systems and ETL processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Develop data governance, control mechanisms, documentation, and test plans for reliable data pipelines.
- Collaborate with the GSO partner to oversee manual and ad hoc data ingestion tasks.
Requirements
- Experience with Python scripting and SQL.
- Degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, data analytics, or an equivalent field.
- Ability to trace data flows and troubleshoot issues under time constraints.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational ability, and capacity to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure services and Azure Blob Storage.
- Experience with Snowflake and Databricks.
