Senior Java Developer

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid working arrangement

What you will do

• Lead team-level system design, including architecture, API contracts, data flows, integrations, and non-functional requirements.
• Develop and optimise scalable services, APIs, data-intensive applications, and analytics capabilities.
• Build production-quality software across the full lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, and delivery.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across services, APIs, data processing, and user experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into secure, maintainable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design guidance, pairing, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Mandatory experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications in an agile environment.
• Experience leading team-level design, evaluating technical trade-offs, and creating secure, maintainable solutions.
• Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and ambiguity-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Exposure to TypeScript and React.
• Experience with SQL and Databricks, Spark, or PySpark for data pipelines.
