Senior Communications Manager

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States; on-site. Candidates must reside in the Washington, D.C. area full-time and be able to travel intermittently across the continental United States.

What you will do

• Develop and implement communications and outreach strategies aligned with agency missions and goals.
• Draft and edit press releases, newsletters, blogs, social media posts, reports, and other external communications.
• Create, edit, and publish approved text, graphics, and video content for agency websites.
• Research and draft responses to media inquiries and prepare outreach materials for beneficiaries, grant recipients, and partners.
• Optimize web content for search engines and track website performance using analytics tools.
• Plan events, coordinate speakers, design promotional materials, and support working groups and remote and in-person engagement sessions.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in public relations, communications, or digital media.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a relevant field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Content must meet Plain Writing Act of 2010 standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
