Head of Global Procure to Pay (P2P) / Accounts Payable (AP)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts, USA; in-person work is required three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home on other days.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Lead the global accounts payable and procure-to-pay function across US, EMEA, and APAC entities.
• Manage invoice intake, approval workflows, payment schedules, employee expense reimbursements, and cash-flow optimization.
• Lead a geographically dispersed AP team, aligning skills, workload, resources, and performance with business needs.
• Manage vendor onboarding, master data, payment-term negotiations, disputes, compliance, and escalated payment inquiries.
• Drive regional process standardization, e-invoicing, workflow automation, touchless processing, and ERP or tool implementations.
• Report on AP performance, support financial close, analyze liabilities and aging, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing a global accounts payable function and geographically dispersed teams across the US, UK, and APAC.
• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes, systems, vendor payments, multi-currency transactions, and regional compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar, as well as AP automation tools.
• Experience with SOX controls, segregation of duties, audits, 1099 reporting, and VAT/GST compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• At least seven years of experience in a global management role; a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements across US, EMEA, and APAC regions.
• Project management experience involving system implementation or process transformation.
