Software Engineer II: Innovus R&D (C++)

What you will do

• Design and develop algorithms and technology for automated clock-tree synthesis in the Innovus place-and-route tool.
• Develop and maintain software in C++ and Tcl within a distributed international development environment.
• Improve existing code for scalability, tool turnaround time, and memory efficiency.
• Debug customer issues, fix defects, and ensure functional correctness.
• Build unit tests, run regressions, and validate new algorithms and integrations on industrial test cases.

Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or another numerate discipline.
• Strong programming and software engineering experience in C, C++, Java, C#, Rust, or another C-like language.
• Interest in language features, data structures, design patterns, unit testing, and automation tools.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese are required.
• Ability to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of comparable software engineering experience.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures applied to Electronic Design Automation, including placement, routing, and clock-tree synthesis.
• Experience with Perforce, Git, or another version control system.
• Knowledge of Linux command-line tools.
• Experience using agentic coding systems such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
