Software Engineer II (WhatsApp)

Location: Toronto, Canada

Salary: CA$142,538–CA$235,736/year base pay; expected OTE of CA$156,000–CA$258,000/year including variable compensation.

What you will do

• Build, scale, and expand messaging channels including WhatsApp, LINE, and Kakao.
• Develop sending, analytics, and subscription management capabilities within the hirify.global product.
• Build customer-facing dashboard features for composing messages.
• Design and improve highly parallelized systems for sending and processing messaging events.
• Develop new features, improve performance, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Architect critical system components and optimize platform resilience as it scales.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of full-stack development experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, React, or TypeScript.
• Experience building distributed systems at scale.
• Experience with agile processes.
