What you will do

• Lead, grow, and empower a team of 9 backend engineers through delegation and professional development.
• Define the team roadmap and vision with Product Managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Drive execution and timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance on distributed systems, scaling, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and promote effective communication and teamwork.
• Oversee hiring in partnership with recruiting to build a diverse and inclusive team.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years managing people and leading backend teams of 5+ engineers.
• Extensive engineering experience in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment.
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, performance optimization, B2B product development, and data integrations through APIs, file exchange, or self-service tooling.
• Experience working with remote teams across different time zones and fluency in English.
• Hands-on leadership, strong product intuition, humility, adaptability, resilience, and comfort with ambiguity.
