Embedded Electrical Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design system-on-modules, baseboards, and test boards for embedded compute platforms.
• Develop high-speed digital designs using PCIe, 10 Gb Ethernet, USB 3.x, MIPI, DDR, and Flash, including layout constraints and signal-integrity validation.
• Design power trees, sequencing, and conversion topologies, and verify power-up and power-down behavior.
• Lead design reviews from block diagram through fabrication release and work with PCB and EMS partners on stack-up, via technology, layout guidance, and cost trade-offs.
• Define verification plans, troubleshoot and characterize boards, and perform thermal, vibration, EMC, and ESD qualification.
• Collaborate with embedded software, mechanical, and validation teams through board bring-up and flight qualification.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of embedded hardware design experience, including taking boards from specification through bring-up, qualification, and production.
• MSc in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field; hands-on design and bring-up experience is prioritized.
• Strong expertise in high-speed design, signal integrity, processor-based systems with external memory, and power architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic CAD tools such as Altium and proficiency with electronic test equipment.
• Experience planning and executing thermal, vibration, EMC, and ESD qualification, and working with fabrication and assembly partners.
• Rigorous, analytical, autonomous approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• FPGA or MPSoC design experience.
• Experience deploying AI inference on embedded targets.
• UAS, drone, or defense hardware experience.
• PhD in a relevant engineering field.
