Company

AeroVect is a Series A company developing autonomous ground-handling systems for airlines and ground service providers.

What you will do

  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessments using HARA, FMEA, FTA, and STPA across autonomous system architectures and vehicle operation concepts.
  • Derive, specify, and trace functional, technical, and hardware safety requirements for supervised and driverless autonomy.
  • Conduct quantitative hardware safety analyses, including FMEDA, diagnostic coverage analysis, and PMHF calculations.
  • Calculate component and system failure rates using SN 29500, IEC 61709, MIL-HDBK-217F, and Telcordia SR-332.
  • Evaluate compute hardware, lidar, radar, camera, actuator interfaces, and power distribution systems for single-point and latent faults.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, robotics, hardware, and test teams and support safety-case artifacts for airport deployment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, aerospace, or industrial safety.
  • 5+ years of hardware safety engineering, electrical reliability, or failure-rate modeling experience.
  • Prior experience with autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics.
  • Mastery of FIT-rate modeling, component failure-rate calculations, and FMEDA workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 26262-5, including SPFM, LFM, and hardware diagnostic strategies.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering, robotics, or a related discipline.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work within a high-velocity agile engineering environment.
  • Receive technical mentorship from a Principal Safety Engineer and guidance from the Head of Safety.
  • Collaborate across systems, software, robotics, hardware, and test disciplines.
  • Contribute to autonomous technology used in commercial airport operations.
