TL;DR
Senior Digital Electronics Engineer (Spacecraft Avionics): Designing and verifying command and data-handling electronics and interfaces across the full spacecraft lifecycle with an accent on PCB design, avionics architecture, telemetry and telecommand, and environmental testing. Focus on defining requirements and verification plans, building fault-tolerant data-handling systems, and investigating anomalies during integration, testing, and mission operations.

What you will do

  • Design and develop command and data-handling subsystems for spacecraft across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Review subsystem requirements and define data, processing, test, and verification plans.
  • Design and review circuits and PCB designs for spacecraft avionics applications.
  • Plan and conduct electrical subsystem and system-level verification, including environmental testing.
  • Define telemetry and telecommand interfaces with payloads, platform units, and ground segments.
  • Support avionics architecture trade-offs, supplier coordination, anomaly investigation, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Diploma, bachelor's, or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant engineering or science discipline.
  • At least 5 years of commercial experience designing electronic or command and data-handling systems for satellites.
  • Experience with spacecraft standards and interfaces including CCSDS, I2C, RS422, SpaceWire, or CAN.
  • Understanding of spacecraft command and data-handling systems and their electrical interfaces.
  • Experience developing and conducting test plans for spacecraft avionics.
  • Good understanding of systems engineering and requirements management throughout the project lifecycle.

Nice to have

  • Experience physically testing hardware and handling flight equipment in a cleanroom environment.
  • Experience with GNSS testing and satellite time synchronization.
  • Radiation-tolerance analysis and radiation-hardness assurance for low-Earth-orbit applications.
  • Knowledge of debris removal, end-of-life operations, in-orbit servicing, and digital space electronics design.
