Title Officer (Title Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Salary: $28.60–$43.00 or $30.20–$45.20 per hour, depending on location.

What you will do

• Independently manage title-only files through title examination, clearance, and curative work.
• Review county records, search packages, tax records, attorney opinions, surveys, GIS data, and other property documentation.
• Conduct and evaluate county, DataTrace, PACER, Patriot/OFAC, LexisNexis, and related searches.
• Identify and resolve liens, judgments, taxes, municipal liens, UCC matters, affidavit requirements, and other title issues.
• Coordinate with consumers, creditors, attorneys, underwriters, vendors, and Closing Associates to maintain file progress.
• Update title commitments, prepare pro forma policies and marked-up commitments, coordinate legal documents, calculate premiums, and enter clearance charges.

Requirements

• Eight or more years of title examination and curative experience within a title operation.
• A four-year college degree.
• Experience supporting transactions at a national scale.
• Strong knowledge of title search, examination, curative, and clearance practices, including ALTA forms, endorsements, issuing guidelines, legal descriptions, and mortgage documents.
• Proficiency with title production and search tools such as DataTrace, PACER, LexisNexis, and Slack.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, or New Jersey title markets.
