Sr Cost Estimating SME

Location: On-site at Scott AFB in Belleville, Illinois. Travel requirements are minimal, at 0–20%, with standard working hours.

What you will do

• Lead and manage NGAL financial analysis and cost estimation in compliance with Department of Defense, Air Force, AMC, and AFLCMC policies.
• Develop and deliver cost estimation, cost-benefit, requirements, and lifecycle cost products for Next Generation Airlift capability alternatives.
• Use cost estimating tools including MS Excel with the Crystal Ball plug-in and ACEIT.
• Apply strategic and tactical airlift experience, aircraft operations, flight planning, and mission execution expertise to shape system requirements.
• Prepare Analysis of Alternatives, Joint Force Requirements Process, and System Attributes and Requirements Document materials.
• Coordinate with Air Staff, MAJCOM headquarters, Systems Program Office, and operational stakeholders, and present analysis results to senior AMC leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience in cost estimating execution within the Department of War.
• In-depth knowledge of Department of War cost-estimation policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Experience in A3, A4, A5/A8, or an equivalent organization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst certification or equivalent Department of War certification.
• Three or more years of experience at Headquarters Air Mobility Command or in SAF/AQ, HAF/A3, HAF/A5, or HAF/A8.
• Experience with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process and documentation.
• Knowledge of DoW 5000.02 and AFLCMC policies, processes, and procedures.
