Principal Cloud Architect (AI)

What you will do

• Define reference architectures, cloud landing zones, and technical standards across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Design governed lakehouse, warehouse, streaming, data quality, and data platform architectures.
• Build platform patterns for moving GenAI and agentic workloads from prototype to production, including access control, evaluation, observability, and cost guardrails.
• Lead technical discovery, solution shaping, estimation, risk reduction, and technical scope definition for client engagements.
• Own security, compliance, reliability, observability, operating cost, and rollback considerations in architecture designs.
• Run design reviews, mentor architects and senior engineers, and develop reusable accelerators and AI-assisted delivery practices.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or data engineering, including several years as the accountable architect for production systems at scale.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, production Kubernetes, and Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure-as-code tool.
• Experience designing and shipping modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric, or Redshift, including governance and data quality.
• Strong security architecture experience covering IAM, zero-trust networking, encryption, audit readiness, network segmentation, secrets management, and logging.
• Experience putting GenAI or LLM systems into production, including RAG, evaluation, guardrails, or agent orchestration.
• Ability to work under ambiguity, explain technical trade-offs to executives, and collaborate directly with engineers on implementation.

• Multi-cloud or hybrid experience at enterprise scale.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or the public sector.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or CKA certification.
• Experience building an architecture practice or center of excellence from an early stage.
