Fire Protection Designer

Location: Nashville, TN, USA. On-site, full-time position with travel of less than 20%.

What you will do

• Manage fire protection scope on commercial projects and coordinate technical deliverables with internal design teams.
• Design practical, code-compliant fire protection systems for aviation, K-12, higher education, retail, hospitality, and other commercial projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis using available software.
• Produce 3D fire protection designs in Autodesk Revit and support BIM workflows.
• Prioritize work across complex delivery schedules and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and fire protection design staff while developing toward technical leadership and mentorship responsibilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in design, consulting, or construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering, engineering technology, or a similar ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with fire protection design principles for building construction.
• Experience applying applicable NFPA, Unified Facilities Criteria, and building codes and standards, including IBC and SBC.
• Proficiency in fire protection design, Autodesk Revit, and BIM workflows related to fire protection engineering and design.
• Strong written and oral communication, planning, organization, time management, independent work, and teamwork skills.
