Fire Protection Designer

Location: Onsite at a large semiconductor facility in North Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Relocation assistance is provided.

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Lead fire protection system design from concept through construction, including layouts, device placement, riser diagrams, sequences of operation, and battery and voltage-drop calculations.
• Develop code-compliant drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical reports using REVIT, AutoCAD, and similar design tools.
• Review architectural, engineering, design, shop drawing, and construction submittals for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Represent the owner during design, construction, and commissioning; conduct site assessments and field surveys.
• Support testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities by preparing test plans, witnessing tests, and documenting results.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, AHJs, clients, and internal teams; manage technical project scope, schedules, and workload.

Requirements

• Progressive experience in fire protection system design, consulting, or inspection.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or other industry design software.

Nice to have

• NICET certification, with NICET Level II or higher strongly desired.
• Proficiency with ASPIRE software.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, life safety standards, and local jurisdictional requirements.
• Experience with mass notification systems and integrated life safety solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technically sound design strategies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting client and schedule commitments.
• Significant industry experience in fire protection system design, inspection, or code consulting.
