Senior Engineer 2: AI Agentic Platform (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

Salary: $166,000–$258,000 annual

What you will do

• Design and build core AI agent platform capabilities, including agent orchestration, tool-use pipelines, memory systems, and APIs.
• Own end-to-end solution design for platform components spanning multiple engineers and product cycles.
• Integrate LLM APIs, embedding models, vector stores, and RAG patterns into production platform services.
• Lead design and code reviews while maintaining standards for quality, testability, extensibility, security, and reliability.
• Define metrics, events, alerting, dashboards, and observability patterns for platform components.
• Collaborate with product, business, infrastructure, and security stakeholders; mentor junior engineers and participate in hiring.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and delivering complex, scalable distributed systems.
• Hands-on production experience with LLMs, foundation model APIs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and embedding-based search.
• Experience building shared AI infrastructure or developer platforms for AI-focused product organizations.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, cloud-native development on AWS and/or GCP, RESTful services, event-driven architectures, and backend databases.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD practices, observability, and cross-functional technical collaboration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic systems with LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or OpenAI Assistants API.
• Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration, agent memory, human-in-the-loop workflows, evaluation frameworks, and safety guardrails.
• Background in retail, e-commerce, supply chain, or production ML platform services.
• Experience with Spark, BigQuery, or Redshift and contributions to open-source AI or platform projects.
