Junior/Mid Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Osijek, Croatia; flexible hybrid work model combining in-person collaboration with remote work and flexible start times between 7 AM and 10 AM.

What you will do

• Write well-designed, testable, and maintainable production code.
• Implement new features, support existing functionality, fix bugs, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Own the full feature lifecycle, from design with product managers and designers through implementation and production deployment.
• Develop expertise in the team's distributed systems, dependencies, failure modes, and technical trade-offs.
• Contribute to technical discussions and collaborate with the CDP team and cross-functional colleagues.
• Share knowledge, participate in code reviews, proactively identify problems, and advance solutions.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience, excluding internships and academic projects alone.
• Solid production-level Java experience.
• Experience with microservices, Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, relational databases, or NoSQL.
• Experience shipping code to production in a team environment.
• Understanding of clean code, testing, version control, and basic system design.
• Comfort working in an agile environment, handling ambiguity, and learning technologies across the stack.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MongoDB or ClickHouse.
• Experience with .NET/C#.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, or Webpack.
