Cloud Systems Architect

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design end-to-end cloud-native solutions covering compute, networking, storage, identity, data, security, and observability.
• Lead architecture reviews, approval processes, and technical direction for major cloud initiatives.
• Define landing zones, account structures, tagging strategies, reference architectures, blueprints, and reusable engineering patterns.
• Design secure networking topologies, including VPC/VNet environments, transit hubs, hybrid connectivity, and private endpoints.
• Lead cloud migration, modernization, and re-platforming initiatives while driving capacity planning, cost optimization, and FinOps practices.
• Produce architecture artifacts, collaborate with stakeholders and cloud providers, and provide technical leadership and mentorship during delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience, with 8 or more years in software engineering or solution architecture roles.
• Deep expertise designing cloud-native solutions on at least one major cloud platform.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, identity, security primitives, containerization, serverless, and managed data services.
• Experience with cloud migration, modernization, platform consolidation, formal architecture documentation, and architecture reviews.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Multiple cloud architecture certifications or experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Experience in regulated industries and with strict cloud compliance requirements.
• Experience driving FinOps and cost transparency initiatives.
